Generally, it can take several weeks to a few months to complete the application process and receive approval for an e-commerce license.

Submission

Within 30 days of commencing business activities an application must be submitted. This should be done at the district office if the company is located within Bangkok or at the local administration office for businesses situated outside of Bangkok.

Required Information

The following documents are required: E-commerce Registration Application (Tor. Por. form) with website details. ID card or passport of the applicant. Power of attorney if applicable. Clarification letter for late registration.

Required information includes: Name of the website, Type of goods or services being sold, The date on which the website starts/started operating, Method of payment for the purchases, Documents provide the registration of the domain name.

Eligibilty

A business in Thailand operating one or more websites for the sale of their goods or services must apply for an e-commerce licence.

Compliance

The Electronics Transaction Act (ETA) legally recognizes e-commerce businesses, promoting electronic technology in service and transaction industries The ETA enforces licensing, registration, and is overseen by the Electronic Transactions Commission.
